In tenth grade, Hannah said to me
You have a Neanderthal forehead
This is the closest I'll have to retribution

When I was young
My dad taught me how to people-watch
Zoos were no better alternative
So it went

And to be mirrored is a treat
To be the subject of a gaze
A show to unwind
After a long day

I am a deeply jealous person
I want all your best parts
To make a crown out of them
And rest upon my head

Some things are better left untouched
Not perfect, but just right
And nothing more to give or take
Maybe that's love
